We’ve just finalised the concept for a new private dwelling in a retreated area of the Kent countryside.
Designed on the footprint of two previous outbuildings, the proposal is divided into two main volumes joined by a glazed link. Strategically placed openings allow for natural light into the bedrooms at key moments of the day, while large glazed areas are used for the living/dining area, capturing the natural environment and lifting the inside-outside barrier by establishing panoramic views of the landscape.
The exterior finishes are in keeping with the building’s modern architectural language, but are mindful of the surroundings: the Siberian larch cladding will age naturally to a grey/silver finish, complementing the standing seam zinc roof.
We are a small, friendly team of architects who love to talk to people about building design ideas and solutions. Wherever you are based in London and the south east, and whatever the type of building project you are considering, we would love to hear from you.
