Architecture: Contemporary extension to bungalow
We’ve just finalised the design for a contemporary extension to a 1950s bungalow.
Completely clad in charred timber, the new volume will house an open space lounge, kitchen & dining. The vaulted mezzanine over the lounge will function as a hobby space/ home office.
The rest of the property will be reconfigured to allow for 4 bedrooms and a snug/ playroom/ guest bedroom, while the core of the house will be transformed into an atrium.
The project will feature ecofriendly solutions such as a ground source heat pump and solar panels, and will be built using SIPs or a prefabricated timber frame system.
More details and drawings to follow.
