Architecture: Edwardian House Renewal & Extension
Set within the Surrey greenbelt, this Edwardian home required a sensitive approach to alteration and extension. The project balances contemporary comfort with traditional craftsmanship, ensuring every new element sits naturally within its protected setting.
Externally, all traditional details were carefully matched, allowing the new work to merge seamlessly with the original architecture. A hand‑crafted gable was introduced above the three‑bay integral garage, designed to echo the proportions and materiality of the existing gable. The oak framing and brickwork were mirrored throughout the extension, creating a unified and coherent elevation.
Internally, the house underwent a complete modernisation. A generous kitchen extension and a new wine cellar transformed the ground floor, while the attic was refurbished to provide additional family space. Across the home, finishes were stripped back and reinstated in an Edwardian style, blending period character with modern functionality to create a warm, elegant family environment.
