Background

In 2019, gyd architects collaborated with Richard Bailey on the extension and renovation of Stubbs Restaurant, formally known as The Croft Hotel, in Ashford. This working relationship soon expanded into a number of projects where gyd could offer Richard additional technical support.

As a result of this ongoing relationship, Richard was able to consider plans for his succession, enabling him to step back and enjoy a new role as a consultant within gyd architects.

Our plan was to create a partnership which provides Richard’s existing and future clients the support and services they need. As a result, during the past four years gyd architects and Richard Bailey Architects combined forces on projects ranging from new-build houses, restaurants, listed properties and schools. Richard was keen to maintain an interest in client liaison and to bring his 45 years of experience to the practice.

It is a pleasure working with Richard who has an immense knowledge and passion for architecture.
