Location: Ashford, Kent
Architecture: New build eco-house
gyd architects obtained planning approval for this eco-house. The brief was to design an eco-friendly, contemporary, three/ four bedroom house, in a Conservation Area, close to several Grade II listed buildings.
The prefabricated nature of the house, locally sourced materials, grassed parking, and facilities for an electric car and an integrated bike store will enhance the ‘green’ features of the house, helping to further reduce its carbon footprint.
The layout is divided into two volumes, housing separate living and sleeping areas. This is reflected in the elevational treatment: the living block is finished in cedar shingles with sliding barn doors for privacy, whilst the bedroom area is finished in zinc cladding.
We are a small, friendly team of architects who love to talk to people about building design ideas and solutions. Wherever you are based in London and the south east, and whatever the type of building project you are considering, we would love to hear from you.
