Location: Kent
Architect: Matthew Kettle
Architecture: Extension to Grade 2 Listed Building
This beautiful old grade II listed property required the removal of an existing modern pastiche single storey conservatory to the rear of the property and replacing it with a usable, more sympathetically designed sunroom.
The proposed scheme uses a steel portal frame to support the heavily insulated lead roof. The steel frame was cladded in oak, and the glazing system was supplied and installed by an Italian company, called Carminati www.carminatiserramenti.com
The main requirements were to reduce heat build-up, but maintain a light and airy space. In addition, we were to provide an uninterrupted view of their beautiful garden. Brief accomplished.
