gyd architects was commissioned to make this Outdoor Structure for a private client. The delicate looking Pavilion is constructed of timbers and polycarbonate, and is designed to give the impression of an improvised Pop-up space while providing a sturdy and weather-resistant structure.
The Pavilion Pop-up space is an intimate and inviting amphitheatre with two-tiered seating wrapped around a raised platform. The stage is cleverly lit from above by a ‘spotlight’ – a translucent element reflecting light onto the central space. Multiple uses for gyd architects Outdoor Pavilion Space might include use as an intimate performance enclosure or an inviting and visually recognisable designated public meeting space.
