Pool House and Annexe

Location: Wye, Kent
Architecture: Contemporary Pool House and Annexe

Our design of a single storey contemporary pool house and annexe in Wye received Planning Approval last week. Very excited to start detailing and construction!

The proposal includes a garage/ hobby space and a self-contained annexe which is linked to the main house via a planted atrium which will better articulate the spaces. The lounge and pool area at the back will benefit from unobstructed views to the garden due to the large expanse of glass.

In keeping with the surrounding properties and the main house, plain clay tiles will continue down to the brick plinth, creating a seamless connection between roof and walls. The west elevation is divided with a cladded recess of zinc to split the elevation into two structural forms, thus reducing the volume of the building. The elevation towards the garden mainly consists of glazing framed with timber cladding and zinc, continuing across and forming sheltered outdoor areas.
