Architecture: Contemporary modular extension
Located in the Woodland village of Shadoxhurst on the Kent Weald between the North Downs and Romney Marsh, this village house required updating with an extension and refurbishment. With an infusion of light and thoughtful and sensitive design of an open plan space, gyd architects transformed this house into a spacious family home, linking the interior to the garden with the use of timber decking and structural forms. Large sliding doors bring daylight in and give access out to the spacious decking all year round, forming an integral part of the usable living space.
