Location: Private, Kent
Architecture: New Build House
The site benefits from two key interest points: the Orchard to the East and, most importantly, the pond to the West which becomes the main feature of the layout. Since the beginning of the design process it was clear that the presence of the pond was the most important factor and that it was going to be the central element of the composition, as it emphasizes the relation of the built environment with the natural setting.
The simple, elongated shape reinterprets elements of the traditional barn in a contemporary architectural language. As a result, the opaque-to-glazed area and the materials used are kept, but adjusted to the modern way of living.
We are a small, friendly team of architects who love to talk to people about building design ideas and solutions. Wherever you are based in London and the south east, and whatever the type of building project you are considering, we would love to hear from you.
