The Metropole Folkestone
We’re pleased to announce our recent appointment to work on this historic building. The Metropole in Folkestone, one of the town’s most recognisable and architecturally significant landmarks.
Our project involves the sensitive conversion of a small, self-contained commercial unit, formerly a nursery, into a new physiotherapy centre serving the Southeast.
Originally developed as a prestigious seafront hotel in the late 19th century, The Metropole has long been a defining feature of Folkestone’s skyline. Over time, it has adapted to new uses while retaining its architectural character and importance within the town’s heritage setting.
As a listed property and classified as a High-Rise Building (HRB), the project requires a carefully considered and fully compliant approach, balancing modern healthcare requirements with the complexities of working within a protected and technically demanding structure.
We’re proud to help bring this vacant space back into meaningful use, contributing to the continued preservation and future of one of Folkestone’s most iconic buildings. This appointment reflects our commitment to thoughtful refurbishment, adaptive reuse, and the sensitive transformation of historic buildings for modern occupiers.
