Location: Sevenoaks, Kent
Architecture: Contemporary modular New Build
Our client had previously been disappointed with a Planning Permission refusal to replace an existing tired bungalow with a large 4 bedroom home in a Green Belt location. gyd architects made it possible through the clever design of space and efficient built-in furniture. This split-level, 4 bedroom eco-dwelling is a sustainable spacious family home with reduced overall footprint, volume and height, while still boasting increased usable floor space. The open plan living, kitchen and dining area look out toward the garden with bedrooms located under the gentle slope of the roof near quiet woodland at the rear of the property. Clever solutions for additional storage form part of the design and take the place of a traditional loft. Sited sensitively within its natural woodland setting, this modern family home has natural timber cladding and a sedum planted roof to help reduce the visual impact of the building.
gyd architects understands the requirements for high quality, sustainable design appropriate to sensitive Green Belt sites. Our client is delighted with the results!
